Words of Wisdom:
”They tell us that we are weak and unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Three million people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us.” ~Patrick Henry

Fighting for Concealed Carry in the Courts
Albert Almeida is with us today. Albert filed for a concealed carry permit in the state of New Jersey and was denied. He tells us about the specific threats against his life, and his experience with New Jersey’s court system as his case has progressed. We asked Albert about the challenges his case may face. Would New Jersey issue a permit to remove his standing to sue? What can be done to ensure the case can continue to be viable? Albert is working to have co-plaintiffs added to the case.
Recently, the Second Amendment Foundation announced that it would be supporting Albert’s case. With the failure of the United States Supreme Court to hear the Drake case, this is great news. Having a case from New Jersey “in the pipeline” is a prudent step.
Be proactive about gun rights
Since the start of his case, Albert has become a vocal participant in the New Jersey Second Amendment community. As a result, John asks how he views the state of the movement. Albert discusses some efforts he has been a party to, and the frustrations faced by those he has worked with.
One project in particular shows promise. It also represents a significant activity in which Second Amendment Advocates can participate of their own volition. There is no need for a significant amount of effort to coordinate this activity. Join Albert in applying for a carry permit! There are a lot of concerns about how a denial might effect future firearm purchases. Albert mentions that he has purchased firearms with no issue, other than the normal hassles we are all too familiar with, since his carry permit denial. If you are interested in engaging with Albert and like minded individuals in this project, search for the Facebook Group he runs called NJ Second Amendment Rights Fighters
That’s it folks! See you next week.
