Words of Wisdom:
“Are you telling me you’re more comfortable with a thug in line with a gun than a dining room full of people with no criminal record and a legal license to carry a gun?” – Art Bouvier
Calling the Shots:
- What every gun shop should be doing?
- Another story where the focus is on creating rules, in this case an ordinance, rather than on actually putting bad actors away.
- Safety 1st
- An example of why it is important to always obey the 4 rules.
As it often does, the topic of Smart Guns has reared its head again. It wasn’t that long ago we were talking about the push by gun prohibitionists to get these things into the hands of the public. Talk has renewed of Loretta Weinberg repealing and replacing the current gun ban that is touted as a smart gun law, with one that would require dealers to stock these items. As far as we know the language isn’t available yet, so details are murky. The campaign to push these on the public isn’t limited to the borders of New Jersey. 60 Minutes is even doing Smart Gun puff pieces now.
A quick note to those behind these stories, the NRA isn’t opposed to technology, just as most gun owners. They are opposed to gun bans. For all the support that gun haters give smart guns, it seems that everything they do only serves to delay them more.
